Door Design

This concept was developed whilst I worked at Buro Happold with the aim of pushing domestic door design beyond its current limits using contemporary materials and technologies form other industries. The aim was to create a door which had the language and feel of quality of a high quality car door such as an Audi or Mercedes. All the surfaces were to be considered as tactile, resolving areas like the door jamb and hinge which are usually left purely functional.
