Project Description
Zmapping are a company specialising in creating 3D models of cities from aerial photography. These are typically used by architects or planners for massing and understanding sight-lines and carrying out solar studies. However with rapid Prototyping becoming cheaper and more popular for sketch models, some clients had begun to request solid models which could be exported and printed easily. I was involved in preparing a series of scripts for Rhino 3.0 which would allow them to work with the raw data to create solid models rather than the mesh models generated in their AutoCAD workflow.
